-Abstract Shape Design-
You should be able to do these things during this project:
1. Create a shape using the "shape" tool.
2. Change the color of a shape.
3. Use the "pen" tool to add "anchor points".
4. Use the combination "ctrl + pen tool" to change anchor point positions.
5. Use the "converter" option within the pen tool to convert anchor points from round to sharp or sharp to round.
6. Apply "distort filters" to abstract the shapes.
7. Apply "layer styles" to shapes
8. Change opacity of each shapes layer.
9. Use the "auto-select" and "move tool" in combination to move shapes.
10. Create a border.
2. Change the color of a shape.
3. Use the "pen" tool to add "anchor points".
4. Use the combination "ctrl + pen tool" to change anchor point positions.
5. Use the "converter" option within the pen tool to convert anchor points from round to sharp or sharp to round.

7. Apply "layer styles" to shapes
8. Change opacity of each shapes layer.
9. Use the "auto-select" and "move tool" in combination to move shapes.
10. Create a border.

Here are the specifications for the "Abstract Shape Design"
*This project will utilize the Pen and Shape tool. You will start with regular geometric shapes and deform them by adding and deleting anchor points as well
as adjusting their amplitude. You may also need to utilize the converter tool in order to change the anchor point to a sharp or rounded edge.
*Next you will add another element of abstraction by applying filters to your shapes. Going to the filter gallery will not work well for this project.
You will need to go into the filter menu and chose from the distort options.
*This project runs along the same lines as the verb design and reductive color designthat we have done previously. You will need to pay attention to positiveand negative space along with color scheme. Do not forget to add contrast by means of large and small objects, bright and dark
shapes/areas as well as different opacitiesto create depth. Don’t forget that this is abstract; you need to be clever as to how you place your shapes in relationship to other shapes. A play on positive and negative spacewill go a long way in creating movement and interest in your design.
Each design should consider the following:
***3 Designs: 8 X 10 300 Resolution***
*Color Choice/scheme
*Positive/Negative Space
*Contrast
*Movement
*Depth
*Balance
*Emphasis
*Use of Filters
*Over all unity
Take your time and do a good job, expectations are high on this design. If you finish early go back and make it better…
